Jeffersontown, KY – June 6th, 2023 – Lantech, the global leader in secondary packaging equipment, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the grand opening of their new 15,000 square foot case handling equipment factory.  The Mayor of Jeffersontown, members of the Jeffersontown Chamber and local business owners were in attendance to help celebrate the expansion.

During the ceremony, Mayor Carol Pike announced June 6th, 2023 to be “Lantech Day” as she presented Jim Lancaster, the CEO of Lantech, a proclamation plaque commemorating the event.

Several local business leaders attended the milestone event.  Following the ribbon cutting, attendees were given tours of the new facility and invited to stay to enjoy a company-wide luncheon in celebration of the expansion.

“I enjoyed hearing Lantech’s story of innovation as well as seeing their commitment to their founders, employees, and the city of Jeffersontown,” said Bill Reynolds, President of Element 502. “What a fun day of celebration!”

“As an employee of Glaser’s Collision Centers, it was great to engage with another family-owned and locally operated, business  and see the impressive growth”, said Liz DeHart, Sales & Marketing Manager for Glaser’s Collision Center. “As a board member of the Jeffersontown Chamber of Commerce we appreciate Lantech’s impressive support for the community and for its employees.”

Lantech was founded in 1972 by Pat Lancaster, who in the following year invented the stretch wrapper with his brother Bill.  In 2001, Lantech purchased a case handling equipment manufacturer in the Netherlands, which complemented their packaging equipment portfolio. The investment in a North American Case Factory is a result of substantial growth in the demand for Lantech’s case erecting and tray forming equipment in recent years, and will shorten equipment lead times as well as bring more expertise and better support to their customers in the US.

“We’ve been in the case equipment business since 2001, and starting the North American production of case erectors is a real step change in the business,” said Lantech CEO, Jim Lancaster. “This is going to allow us to really increase the growth rate of case equipment sales in the United States, and this new factory is just the beginning.  You are going to see us continue to invest in this industry, invest in automation and invest in customer support.  That’s what this new factory is a symbol of – providing better support to North American customers.”
