Crawford Packaging – a Lantech Distributor in Canada – was contacted by a Warehouse and Logistics Provider looking to improve their existing stretch wrapping process. Their ultimate goals were to reduce product damage being incurred during shipment and improve their stretch wrapping efficiency.
Crawford’s Packaging Specialist visited the Warehousing and Logistics Provider’s facility to perform a free packaging consultation. During the consultation, the Packaging Specialist noted the Provider’s operators were hand wrapping loads, and were struggling to wrap them at a consistent stretch rate due to their odd shapes. This was leading to the operators applying too much film to compensate for the challenging load profiles.
The Packaging Specialist also noticed they were shipping in high volumes and their loads were very light weight. To address all of these challenges, they recommended the Lantech S300 rotary arm stretch wrapper – specifically designed for very heavy or very light loads – and Crawford Guardian Machine Film.
Automating with the Lantech S300 and Crawford’s brand of film greatly increased their load containment, resulting in a reduction of product damage while also reducing film waste. Additionally, the S300 reduced the wrap time by 40 seconds per load! This increased the Provider’s efficiency and allowed them to allocate their labor pool to other critical areas in the facility.
